"DON'T MESS WITH THE SPLIT!"
Here they are in action. That's our comeptition with spinnakers up behind us... |
| We bought Lickety Split in the early 70's, raced and cruised on it until the mid 80's when we sold her to get something trailerable. From the mid 80's to 2001 we raced a few different boats, including a Capri 25 and the M27 Fast Break. A few years ago we got the chance to buy Lickety Split back! So we did... Now that the Split is back we have been actively racing, cruising and upgrading the boat. We added adjustable sheet leads, have an all UK tape drive sail inventory, upgraded the stereo and speakers a few times, recarpeted the inside, have Silva Nexus instruments and a custom mast display, faired the bottom and keel, and done a number of other small things to make Lickety Split better. We have been doing pretty good racing Lickety Split, 2005 First Overall for the Wednesday night series isn't too bad for a 30 year old boat... This summer we'll be doing more distance racing, definitely the Mills Race, the WSSC Lighthouse Challenge, and if we can plan it out well we'll be doing the Trans Erie. |
